Ayn Cates Sullivan Author Bio (general 2025):
Ayn Cates Sullivan, MA, MFA, Ph.D. is an Amazon, Barnes & Nobles, Wall Street Journal and USA Today best-selling author of over 20 books. Weaving ancient wisdom traditions together with personal experience, Dr Sullivan crafts messages to support an evolving humanity. Dr Sullivan obtained her MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia University, a Masters in Spiritual Psychology (USM), as well as a doctorate degree in Anglo-Irish Literature from King’s College London. She combined these degrees to create her “Awareness” workshops, which help people develop creative, life affirming skillsets. Dr Sullivan has offered private intuitive, astrology and tarot readings since 1991, as well as many in person workshops, and has a dedicated international following. Celtic expert Caitlín Matthews has been her mentor for many years.
Dr Sullivan has spent decades researching Celtic Mythology, resulting in a popular series of books called Legends of the Grail. Her books on Celtic mythology include Legends of the Grail: Stories of Celtic Goddesses and Heroines of Avalon & Other Tales. Her debut novel, Nimue: Finding Merlin, was chosen by Kirkus Reviews as a top Indie book. Nimue was chosen by OnlineBookClub as the book of the month and year 2023, resulting in thousands of downloads which has created an avid fan base. Now Nimue is an Amazon & Barnes & Nobles #1 best-selling book. The next novel in the series, Riddles of the Ancestors is forthcoming. As well as her adult literature, she is the author of an award-winning children’s fable series, including A Story of Becoming which won 18 literary awards, as well as five books in the Sparkle fairytale series, and other folktales including a bi-lingual fable, Eala: Mother Swan/ La Madre Cisne. Ayn Cates Sullivan has also been included in serval best-selling anthologies including Thresholds and Quitless.

Dr. Sullivan obtained her BA with honors at Hollins University and her master’s and doctorate degrees in Literature from Columbia University and King’s College London. She has continued her post-graduate work in psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute and the University of Santa Monica, where she obtained her Master’s Degree, and is continuing her studies in Psychosynthesis with ALEF.
